Diesel Engine Course

The Navathome Marine Diesel Engine course takes you through the basics of operating a diesel engine, including the normal startup checks and basic level maintenance. It won't make you a Diesel Mechanic, but it will help you assess whether it is safe to head to sea and following the maintenance guides can improve the reliability of the engine.

Throughout the course there will be lessons on basic pre-start maintenance checks. The optional practical component will ask you to do these checks on a real engine. If you don't have access to an engine that is ok, you can complete just the theory sections and get a certificate and do the practical another time.
